Mushroom Extract Shows Promise in Canine Cancer Treatment

Emerging research underscores the therapeutic potential of Turkey Tail mushroom extracts, specifically polysaccharides, in extending the survival and enhancing the quality of life for dogs afflicted with hemangiosarcoma.
This aggressive canine cancer, frequently observed in breeds such as Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds, typically impacts the spleen and heart, presenting a grim prognosis with conventional treatments. However, a study from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine revealed that dogs treated with Turkey Tail compounds experienced markedly longer survival times than previously recorded, significantly delaying the progression of the disease and offering hope where little existed before.
